Scott Salvator

Scott Salvator is recognized as one of the countrys premier designers. From its inception in 1992, Salvators New York-based full-service firm has specialized in custom residential and commercial interiors for an elite international clientele from Los Angeles to Athens.

The firms interiors have been described as sophisticated, glamorous, luxurious, dramatic, timeless and always colorful. Comfortable with many styles, Salvators expertise is defining and refining the clients style. Joined in 1994 by Michael Zabriskie, his partner and a renowned designer, the pair focuses on creating livable eclectic residences that mix it up and arent one note.

Recent commercial projects include the first total renovation, since its inception in 1955, of the world-famous Caf Carlyle in New Yorks legendary Carlyle Hotel and the decoration of several rooms. The firm also recently completed the restoration of a historically important Emory Roth deco building.

Scott Salvator Inc. has created numerous rooms for Kips Bay and other premier show houses. Their work has been widely featured both in the U.S. and internationally in magazines, newspapers, books and on many television programs.

Scott Salvator is the third generation of his family to work in the design profession in New York City and began his education through his father's and grandfather's businesses in construction and historical restoration. Scott Salvator founded his New York City based interior design firm in 1992. In 1993, the firm expanded to include Michael Zabriskie, an associate of the firm. Scott Salvator and Michael Zabriskie have studied with several leading New York City interior designers, including Mario Buatta, Gary Crain, Robert Metzger, McMillen and Parish-Hadley. Scott Salvator has studied at FIT and Parson's and has a degree in accounting and law. Michael Zabriskie has a degree from Parson's and was an art director for Benton and Bowles and window design director for Bergdorf Goodman and Halston.

Michael Zabriskie

Michael Zabriskie has been a director at Scott Salvator, Inc. since 1994. Prior to working on interiors, he was Senior Art Director at Benton and Bowles. He left that position to become the protg of designer, Mario Buatta. During this time he was the senior window dresser for Halston and Bergdorf Goodman. Following his work with Buatta, Zabriskie was a senior designer at McMillen, Inc. for eight years before becoming an associate of Parish-Hadley, Inc. for two years. Michael has a degree from Parsons and has studied in Paris
